Stephen Nosworthy
Senior Pastor and Chairman of College Board
Stephen has been Senior Pastor @ljbaptist since January 2007 bringing a wealth of Church leadership involvement and experience covering more than three decades in QLD, NSW and now WA. He is married to Dawn and they have three adult sons, two daughters-in-law, and two grand-children.
Stephen has a God-given passion to communicate God’s Word in a way that can be better understood and practically applied to all of life. He seeks to makes God’s truth relevant to living life today as God intended – to the full.
Stephen is responsible for teaching ministries and applications @ljbaptist, the ChurchCare Network, and the overall vision and direction of the Church. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lake Joondalup Baptist College, a K-12 co-educational College established in 1990 as a key ministry @ljbaptist.
Stephen is passionate about the local Church, his family, a good Wilbur Smith novel (read them all), and the only game that matters – soccer.
Wayne Belcher OAM
Associate Pastor – Community Life
Wayne joined the pastoral team in July 2011 and has a major role in the Small Group ministry and LJ Care Fund Inc – a public benevolent and deductible gift recipient social outreach and support organisation founded @ljbaptist to improve the life of the infirm and needy in the Joondalup and surrounding communities.
Prior to joining the team @ljbaptist Wayne had a background of almost thirty years in the not-for-profit aged care, retirement and seniors’ housing sectors in Perth at a para church and social services executive level.
Wayne is married to Janice and they have two adult children, both of whom are being married in the second half of 2012.
Ed Devine
Associate Pastor – Youth and Young Adults
Having completed high school at Lake Joondalup Baptist College in 2003, Ed then studied a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design. After graduating in 2007, he worked in the print and design industry. Ed was led by God to take the role of Youth Pastor @ljbaptist in 2008.
Ed’s passion is leading students in nearness to Christ through preaching the Word of God, training our future leaders and directing the many ministries and programs of the Youth Department.
Ed is happily married to Nelly and they enjoy the beach, playing music and traveling together. Back in the day, Ed was once in a popular heavy metal band, ask him about it one day!
Rob Ahern
Youth Worker
Rob has been assisting our youth since 2011 and has a caring interest in the wellbeing of the young guys. He aims to encourage healthy development and self esteem in the students of the College.
Rob graduated from Lake Joondalup Baptist College in 2008, he loves the local community and his heart is in building friendships with students of the College. Rob’s main focus is being a role model for the students. He co-ordinates the NightMaxx youth events and various other activities throughout the school year.
Rob previously worked as a commercial photographer and he continues this creativity in many different aspects through the Youth Department. Talk to him about photography and you’ll be there for hours!
